Emergency Urology Simulation Training

Sustainably supporting trainers to teach emergency techniques

The EUST programme delivers sustainable, scalable, practical training that can be replicated across regions to improve surgical skills, patient outcomes, and the capacity of healthcare systems to provide urological care.

EUST simulation-based workshops cover the management of acute urinary retention, testicular torsion, urological trauma, urethral and suprapubic catheterisation, and other critical conditions.

The EUST programme aims to:

  • Equip urologists, surgical trainees, and other healthcare providers with the critical skills needed to manage urological emergencies effectively.
  • Reduce mortality and morbidity associated with urological emergencies by providing high-quality training.
  • Strengthen the overall capacity of the healthcare system in Africa by expanding the number of trained professionals capable of handling urological emergencies.
  • Create a sustainable training model that can be replicated and scaled across different regions in Africa, ensuring long-term benefits.
