BJUI Charity

BJU International is a charity for the advancement and improvement of education in urology and related areas and the diffusion of knowledge of new and improved methods of teaching and practising urology.

In addition to our core activities of publishing the scholarly journals BJUI and BJUI Compass, and the eLearning platform, BJUI Knowledge, we undertake a number of charitable endeavours, supporting urological education. These are funded by the proceeds from our publishing activities; all revenues generated are fed back into the global urology community.

Some of our charitable activities

Free access to BJUI Knowledge for all urological trainees worldwide

Trainees/residents can access our eLearning platform, BJUI Knowledge, at no cost. We have agreements with many urological associations across the world.

Sponsoring speakers and delivering workshops at international meetings

We regularly sponsor urologists to speak at the international conferences of some of our affiliated associations and have also delivered workshops on scientific writing.

Innovations in education

BJUI periodically invites project proposals that will deliver education and training using new initiatives and catering for unmet needs in the delivery of urology practice.

Urolink

We have a long relationship supporting Urolink’s work at Hawassa University Comprehensive Surgical Hospital in Hawassa, Ethiopia, for the training of urologists in endourological procedures.

Urology Bootcamp

BJUI is one of the sponsors of the Urology Bootcamp which takes places annually in Leeds, UK, for ST3 trainees.

BJUI prizes

We award a number of prizes each year for the best papers published in our journals. Winners must spend their prize money on educational activities of their choice.
